WITH LOVE......

Mmependezaaaa, Hayajitajeni majina yenu wenyewe!!!!

16-Year-Old Nigerian Bride Ordered To Refund N570,000 Dowry Over Marriage Fraud

dowry refund nigeria

A Nigerian court based in the capital Abuja has ordered a 16-year-old girl, Maryam Suleiman, and her parents to refund N570,000(about $4,000) to her husband, Mukailu Naibi, over a fraudulent marriage.
The judge in the Area Court sitting in Lugbe, Haruna Masanawa, ruled that Suleiman and her parents must refund the money to Naibi within 30 days. Masanawa also ordered that Naibi’s estranged wife, who had filed for divorce, must remain married to him pending the full refund of the amount.
“Based on the evidence before me, the court is convinced that the plaintiff’s parents are dubious people that no child should be proud of. They collected money from different suitors, all with the fraudulent intention of marrying their daughter out to them; all of which turned out to be fake promises.
“This honourable court hereby orders the plaintiff to pay the defendant the sum of N570,000 before divorce is granted to her,’’ Masanawa said.
Naibi of Keke village, Kaduna, whose wife allegedly starved him of sex for two years of their marriage, had demanded N1. 2 million as compensation from the wife’s parents before he would agree to his wife’s request for divorce.
Naibi, 37, while testifying in the case, said the amount covered the bride price he paid before marrying Suleiman.
He told the court that the amount also covered the cost of damage done to his house after Suleiman set it on fire before filing for divorce. Naibi tendered written documents with records of all expenses made on his estranged wife and her parents, in addition to presenting a witness who testified in his favour.
He told the court that his wife had refused to make love to him since they got married two years ago.
“Your worship, since we got married two years ago, my wife never allowed me to make love to her for once and all my attempts to do it always led to fighting.
“I married her out of love and I still love her, but with this development, I have no choice, but to ask the court to grant her divorce wish for the sake of peace,” Naibi said.
In her testimony, Suleiman said her husband had made love to her once but she was not impressed and so wanted divorce.
“I don’t love him; I don’t love anybody who bears his name and I hate anybody who loves him,” she told the court.
Naibi’s in-laws denied most of his claims. [source]

CONTINUED RAINS WORRY LUSAKA RESIDENTS

Continued rains worry Lusaka residents
SOME residential areas in Lusaka are flooded following  Wednesday’s downpour and some residents fear that continued heavy rains could cause destruction to property.
A check by the Daily Mail yesterday revealed that most parts of the city are flooded.
However, there were no reports of houses collapsing or roofs being blown off but huge pools of water were visible in most of the areas.
Among the most affected are Kanyama, Misisi, Chawama, Kuku, Chibolya and Kalikiliki.
Residents are living in fear of cholera and other water-borne diseases due to floods.
Chawaza Gondwe of Kanyama said his house was filled with water on Wednesday after the heavy downpour.
Mr Gondwe, a father of six, was overwhelmed by the flooding.

“I have lived here for close to 30 years and there have always been floods but never before has my house been flooded like it happened on Wednesday,” Mr Gondwe said.
The prospect of rains at night is a nightmare as that would entail more suffering, he said.
Mr Gondwe said his pit-latrine was almost submerged.
He appealed to government to find a lasting solution to the problem of floods.
And Yande Chileshe of Misisi said even if government had earlier warned them to relocate to safer areas, she has no means to do so.

Ms Chileshe, a single mother of three who earns a living by selling goat meat at a night spot, said she has no money to rent a house in a more decent area.
“I was so scared yesterday when the rain water entered my house,” she said, pointing to the one-room structure she rents.
But Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) co-ordinator Patrick Kangwa has assured the nation that his office has a team in place to handle any impending disaster.
Mr Kangwa said in an interview that the DMMU has assembled a “crack squad” to deal with any emergency that may arise.

“We have a crack team in place to deal with any disaster that may arise, so there’s no need for people to live in fear,” he said.
Mr Kangwa said drainages are being repaired and that Lusaka City Council, the Zambia National Service and other government wings are doing their best to ensure that no disaster befalls the nation due to floods.

ZAMBIA'S AFCON 2013 UPDATES.

Go and wallop them!!!

President Sata has urged the Chipolopolo to wallop all their opponents when
they begin their title defence on today.

"What you have to bear in mind is that the people of Zambia support you.
When you start on Monday(today), fight! Be brave and fight like the freedom
fighters who won independence. You have won the cup once, but we want you to
win it again; so don't worry about anything. Go and play and even if you
meet the hosts at any stage, go and wallop them," President Sata said to
massive cheers and applause from the players, dignitaries and FAZ
leadership.

President Sata was accompanied by First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba, Sports
Minister Chishimba Kambwili and other senior government officials and
diplomats.
He was welcomed at the Protea Hotel Nelspruit by FAZ president Kalusha
Bwalya and executive committee members of the Football Association of
Zambia, diplomats and representatives of the Premier of Mpumalanga Province.
His arrival brought the hotel to a standstill and caught the attention of
the international press which included Al Jazeera, BBC, Supersport, CCTV,
Associated Press and a cross section of African media. International media
personnel were however asked to leave the hotel meeting room by FAZ
spokesperson Erick Mwanza who told the audience in his introductory remarks
that President Sata's meeting with the players was "a closed and internal
Zambian affair." The international media was however given an opportunity to
interview the president who emphasized that Zambia was in South Africa to
win.

FAZ chief Kalusha commended President Sata for his support and encouragement
stressing that his unwavering commitment to the team and game was
outstanding.

"Your excellency, we are pleased to welcome you. We are encouraged by your
presence and your commitment and support to the team and FAZ. The whole team
will be greatly encouraged and motivated throughout the tournament," Kalusha
said.

Reigning and defending African champions Zambia open the defense of their
title with a 17:00hours kick against Ethiopia at Mbombela on Monday(today).

MARRIAGE WITHOUT INTIMACY...

They had been married for two years. She loved her husband but she felt like something was missing in the relationship. He thought everything was fine in their marriage. She didn't feel comfortable to tell him what she really thought. You could say that she didn't feel safe to be transparent. She couldn't trust him with the secrets of her heart.

Marriage is a heart-to-heart relationship. It is built on intimacy. Anything that hinders transparency is a barrier to intimacy in marriage. Couples who are transparent open their hearts to intimacy in the relationship.

Intimacy comes through communicating without barriers. Both husband and wife must feel safe to be transparent. The more transparent they are with each other, the more vulnerable they become to one another. We can only be intimate when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable.

There are four levels of transparency in marriage. Real intimacy requires all four. The hearts of both husband and wife are open to each other. The door of their hearts is wide open.

Volitional Transparency. This means that you are willing to give yourself completely to your spouse. Fear of being hurt is usually the main obstacle. Without this volitional element, building trust and experiencing intimacy becomes impossible.

Mental Transparency. This means that you have no secrets from your mate. Secrets will build a wall of separation. Sharing your thoughts with your partner provides transparency leading to intimacy. Then, there is trust and a meeting of hearts.

Emotional Transparency. Feelings are shared freely. A husband wants to know what his wife is feeling in every situation. When she feels safe to share her deepest feelings, intimacy and trust are experienced. Criticism and judgmental statements hinder the atmosphere for emotional transparency. When your spouse knows that you will not pass judgment on feelings expressed, the safety is there to be open.

Spiritual Transparency. Let your spouse know your heart about spiritual matters. Worship together and pray together. Share your faith. Confess your doubts. Be open to God together. Confess your sins to each other and pray for one another. Realize that God's bond of love in your relationship is essential to fulfillment in marriage.

Intimacy in marriage is not an unexplained feeling nor an unknown mystery. Intimacy can only come through a transparent and vulnerable relationship. When both persons are willing to completely open their lives to each other, they will enter the area of intimacy in marriage.
